Do people think you're crazy?

Yes, lots of people think I'm crazy for using cloth. There's lots of reasons but the most popular reason is "I could never deal with the poop!"

Did you know, even with disposable diapers, you're supposed to dump the poop?! Here's some labels off of diaper packages stating that poop does in the toilet and TRASH goes in the landfills

Did you ever do that?! I started using cloth with my daughter at 12 months so did use my fair share of sposies, and NEVER dumped the poop before throwing the diaper away.

So, my point is- whether you use cloth or disposables, you're still doing that lovely step. Washing cloth diapers really isn't that bad especially if you have a good system. You will save money, save your baby's bum, save the environment, and have an adorable tooshie to look at!

So if your friends think you're crazy, let them know THEY'RE actually the crazy ones for spending all that money on diapers. ;)

Our Give back Program

Hi!

We are so excited with all the mamas and daddies we've met so far. This is why we do what we do! For the people.

We are so excited about our give back program, "1 for 10". For every 10 diapers sold, we will donate one diaper to a non-profit organization who can then give it to someone in need. Today we teamed up with Giving Diapers, Giving Hope, a non-profit organization that collects and distributes diapers to families in need.

I had read several months ago that diaper rash cream sales were at an all time rise. At first, I got really excited because I thought it meant people would want to start using cloth. But then when I stopped and  thought about WHY diaper rash creme sales were up, I realized the bizarre reality that food stamps and WIC type programs do not cover diapers. Many poor families leave a diaper on their baby as long as they can, stretching out the time to make the pack of diapers last as long as possible. I've even read about people rinsing and drying disposable diapers to use again!

For me, it's a no-brainer. If you have a wash machine or even a bathtub with running water, and a dryer or close-line  you should use cloth! Not only is it much cheaper, it's healthier, more convenient  more reliable, and simply more adorable.

Hopefully our community program will make a difference, even if small. For more information on our "1 for 10", email us! AnchorDiaperCo@gmail.com.

Anchored

Hi All. :)

Welcome to our blog. "We" are Corinne (grandmother to three amazing kiddos), Alyssa (mother of two wonderful children and step-mother to an incredible daughter), and Joanna (new grandmother to twin boys!). Together, we make up the Anchor Team and are so excited to bring our diapers to you.

Alyssa became the visionary of the anchor diaper, her dream diaper, thought up by both her and her husband. Alyssa loved the softness and adorable fabrics of the fitted diapers but her husband totally disliked the fact they weren't "waterproof" and needed a bulky cover or wool shorts/pants. I think secretly he was just too lazy to add an extra step during diaper changes. ;)

Corinne (Alyssa's mother-in-law) and Joanna (Alyssa's sister's mother-in-law) are master sewers. You name it, they can sew it! Like, a shirt, they can do it. Like, a wedding dress, yep. Shoes? I'm sure they can.

So with my vision and business knowledge + their sewing skills= Anchor Diaper Company was born!

We are really passionate about this business and welcome your feedback. Please feel free to email us if you need anything!

(Hugs)
